Build A Better Breakfast
Many people don’t know that September is National Better Breakfast Month. But breakfast is my favorite meal—that’s why I collected 5 breakfast hacks to help you tackle the most important meal of the day.
Meal Prep—People talk a lot about meal prepping lunch and dinner, but you can save a lot of time and effort in the morning by meal prepping your breakfast too! Meals like pre-wrapped breakfast burritos, pancakes and even overnight oatmeal are great to prepare the night before and stick in the fridge for whenever you need them.
Include A Glass Of Water—Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But there’s something even more important than breakfast, and that’s staying hydrated. And the best way to stay hydrated throughout the day is to start strong. Try drinking a glass of water or two before each meal, but especially breakfast!
Prioritize Fiber & Protein—Don’t get me wrong, I love sugary cereal, but try prioritizing food that’s high in fiber and protein. Doing so will help you stay fuller for longer. Foods like eggs and whole-grain bread are a great way to get both.
Switch It Up—Life’s too short to eat the same thing every morning. Even if you have a tried-and-true breakfast meal, try switching up what you eat. You might find the variety adds a little something extra to your daily routine.
Incorporate A Fruit Or Vegetable—I already talked about adding fiber and protein, but fruits and vegetables are also a great way to make your breakfast a little healthier. Smoothies are a great breakfast solution. Next time you make a fruit smoothie add a half cup of spinach or some frozen cauliflower—you won’t even taste it!
Breakfast doesn’t need to be a struggle. If you incorporate any or even some of these tips into your morning routine, I think you’ll find every breakfast can be a breakfast of champions!
